01 Our commitment
Tru72 aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA on the public website. WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) is the international standard for web accessibility; Level AA is the conformance level most government and private-sector targets use.
In plain English: the site should work without a mouse, work with a screen reader, have readable contrast, and not rely on color alone to communicate meaning. Where we fall short, we want to know.
02 What we've done so far
The site is built with the following accessibility practices in place:
- Semantic HTML: pages use proper heading structure, landmarks (header, nav, main, article, section, footer), lists, and link text
- Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements are reachable via keyboard; focus is visible
- Color contrast: body text meets WCAG AA contrast against background. Our palette reserves Rust Orange and Sandstone Tan for non-body uses, partly for brand reasons and partly for contrast safety. Deep Green and ink colors are used for body text against the cream background.
- Alt text: images include alt text describing their function or content
- Form labels: form fields have associated labels and clear error messaging
- Headings: one H1 per page; ordered heading hierarchy
- Descriptive links: link text describes the destination; no "click here" patterns
- Skip-to-content link: at the top of every page, hidden visually until keyboard-focused
- Unique page titles: every page has a unique and descriptive title
- Language attribute:
lang="en"is set on the document root - Reduced-motion preference honored: visitors with
prefers-reduced-motionset in their operating system see animations disabled - No autoplay audio or video
- No flashing content
03 What we know still needs work
We are not pretending the site is perfect. The items below are the known gaps; we are working through them.
- Third-party embeds: the HousecallPro booking widget, the Workflo reviews widget, Google Maps embeds, and the GoodLeap and Service Finance Company financing applications are not fully under Tru72's control. We have selected vendors with reasonable accessibility track records and we report issues we identify to them.
- PDFs: any PDFs linked from the site (Energy Trust of Oregon rebate forms, warranty documentation) may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We are remediating these as they arise.
- Photography alt text: team and project photography is in progress; placeholder alt text will be refined as the photographer's assets land. Each new shot is reviewed for descriptive alt text before publish.
- Older blog or resource content: if any blog posts or resource articles predate the launch, their alt text and structure may not meet current standards. We remediate as we encounter.
04 Compatibility
Tested with
- Browsers: latest two versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox
- Screen readers: NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS, VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android (selectively)
- Operating systems: Windows 10/11, macOS, iOS, Android
Not formally tested
Still functional but not verified end-to-end:
- Older browsers more than two major versions behind
- Specialized assistive technology beyond mainstream screen readers (eye-tracking, switch input). The site uses standard HTML, so most input modes should work, but we have not formally verified.
05 How to report an accessibility issue
We want to know when something doesn't work. Several ways to reach us:
- Email: accessibility@tru72.com
- Phone: (541) 926-2321; describe the issue and we will route it to the right team

- What happened, or what didn't happen
Our commitment: we acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business days and plan a fix within 10 business days for substantive issues. If a fix will take longer, we communicate why and when.
If you need information from the site and the site isn't working for you, call (541) 926-2321 and we will get you what you need by phone in the meantime.
06 Ongoing work
- We re-audit the site at least annually
- Major template changes trigger an accessibility check before publish
- We track reported issues and remediate against an internal backlog
- We watch for WCAG updates and Oregon and Washington state accessibility guidance
07 Statement review
